Last weekend was a 3-day weekend (hooray!) for China’s May Day holiday, and it’s the one time of year when Beijing has big music festivals across the city. There were three big ones this year, all with lots of local bands and a few international acts as well including Avril Lavigne! This year we went to the Strawberry Festival (草莓音乐节) to see one of Ollie’s favourite Chinese bands, Queen Sea Big Shark (后海大鲨鱼), a Beijing based indie rock group. The festival was amazing, and it was so nice to be out in the sunshine all day!
