Hutongs

During the Spring Festival holiday, Ollie and I spent a little time in the hutongs (alleyways) – my favourite part of Beijing. The hutongs are all that remains of ‘old China’ and are full of hidden restaurants, shops, and the old traditional courtyard houses.

The Look of the Day was about warmth, as temperatures were around -8C! My cosy turtleneck, thick coat, and knee-high boots did the trick as we wandered around the narrow streets. I thought the hutongs made a beautiful backdrop – what do you think? :)

These pictures are stunning. I’ve read a lot about ‘old China’ and I am always captured by the beauty of everything oriental. I never fails to inspire me.
