Grace Beijing relaunch

Here are a few pics from Wed night’s relaunch of Grace Beijing, a gorgeous luxury hotel in Beijing’s quirky Art District, 798. There was live music, wine, and yummy snacks and canapes on offer as everyone mingled in the hotel’s beautiful outdoor courtyard. It was nice to be outside enjoying the last of the warm evenings while we still can! :)

And now it’s FRIDAY already, hooray! NZ is playing its second game of the Rugby World Cup – I’ll definitely be cheering our team on from some sports pub in Beijing! ;) Hope you all have a great Friday!

A Hen’s night

Last weekend was China’s Mid-Autumn Festival, and the long weekend was the perfect time to celebrate our friend’s upcoming wedding by throwing her a HUGE hen’s night! (Whew, two nights to recover! ;P ) Of course, what happens on a hen’s night stays on a hen’s night… so I can’t post photos from that night here ;) BUT we did celebrate in a more civilised manner during the day, which I can share with you!

Lunch was at the lovely Yi House in Beijing’s Art District, 798. Our waiter was so sweet, and the food and wine AMAZING. Then we took our hen for a mani/pedi, the perfect way to pamper her and pass a drizzly afternoon, trying to reserve all our energy  for the craziness that was to follow!! ;)

Peter Lindbergh @ 798

Went to see Peter Lindbergh’s ‘The Unknown’ exhibition at 798! 798 is one of my favourite places in Beijing – an old factory complex which has been converted into an awesome art district. I love going in there in the summer, enjoying the cafes, cute stores, and exhibits from contemporary Chinese and international artists! :)
