Lost and Found

Hey guys!

Although today’s post was shot in sunny Beijing, I’m now sitting in my amazing hotel room in Shanghai where I’ll be for the next two days. Travel definitely has to be one of the biggest perks work offers, it’s always exciting to have a change of scene and see something different – and I always feel so energized when I arrive in a different city!

Speaking of perks, one of the benefits of Ollie’s work in the snowboard industry is (a) meeting lots of awesome snowboarders from around the world who come to China to compete in or judge Mellowparks events, and (b) scoring some sick snowboard gear! For this outfit I wore my WESC  ’Lost and Found’ pro model tee – a gift from renown snowboarder Ingemar Backman when he was here in January. The purple beanie was also a gift,  from the lovely Liz Kim and her Korean snowboard sponsors. Ok, so I guess technically these were gifts for Ollie – but he can’t possibly need them all, right? Haha.

Beanie: HOUR (Korean snowboard brand) / Jacket, vest, jeans: Zara / ‘Lost and Found’ tee: WESC, Ingemar Backman pro model tee / Wedges: Spring / iPhone cover: Michael Kors (gift from Ollie)

Thanks for reading, and if you want to follow me I’ll be updating Twitter and Facebook with photos from Shanghai. Til tomorrow then - I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! :)

Beijing Foodies + Little Flower Projects

A couple of weeks ago, some friends and I attended a ‘Beijing Foodies’ event at Starfish restaurant. Beijing Foodies is an event held once a month, designed to bring together people who love to try new restaurants and meet new people – and to do it all for a good cause, by raising money at each event for various charities.

This particular foodie event put the spotlight on Little Flower Projects, a not-for-profit organization which my dear friend Malaika helps run. The organization does amazing work providing care to abandoned or sick infants, and education  for older disabled orphans. Volunteers’ efforts and generous donations are the backbone supporting the organzation’s efforts, and it was wonderful to be able to contribute to Malaika and her team and bring a little attention to the work that Little Flower does. If you’d like to check out their blog, click here - you’ll see how cute these kids are!

My outfit for the evening was a combo of my faux fur vest, wet look jeans, and my more stylish pair of winter boots, which I found at 3.3 Mall last year. What do you think of the look? It’s a pity we had to take these photos at night so the quality is not so great, but thank you again to Sally for her valiant efforts to capture it all for me! :)

By the way, I have to apologize for the false alarm regarding my blog’s new look… apparently it will take a couple of days to complete the changes, so you (I) will have to be patient! My bad.. haha! See you tomorrow :)

Faux fur vest

Announcement: New Zealand is the 2011 Rugby World Cup Champion!! Hooray! :) It was an incredibly close and nerve-wracking match, with the French side putting on a really good performance, but we just managed to squeeze to a 8-7 victory! I now have no voice or nails left… haha ;)

On to the outfit pics.. oh how I wish it was still warm enough to wear this faux fur vest without layers underneath like I did just last week.. but no, Beijing has suddenly decided: It Is Now Winter! I wore this to lunch with Sally – we were trying out this new place ‘Obentos‘ which does healthy Japanese food and Bento boxes! It’s also owned by a friend so that made it even more exciting :) The food was so yummy and made me miss Japan – I was there for Christmas last year and ate almost nonstop the whole trip!

Back to the outfit… these boots are the charcoal version of the ones I wore in last week’s post, they’re so comfy (believe it or not!) and go so well with all my skinny jeans :) And although we tried to hide it, what you can see in the background is not cloud but mild smog (yes mild – you should have seen it yesterday!)… isn’t it lovely!? :S Hope you all had a great weekend! :)
