Being surrounded by beautiful red, orange, and golden leaves is probably everyone’s favourite thing about Autumn… and it is mine too!
I have two favourite streets in Beijing, trees-wise (is that weird? haha), the street where I work near Ritan Park, and Dongzhimenwai Street, just north of Sanlitun Village. Every year these two streets turn out the most beautiful display of autumn colours, which I find so distracting every time I pass by on my scooter!
Last Sunday we went to have high tea at the very prettily decorated Royal Smushi House, just by Dongzhimenwai. Yes ‘smushi’ is a odd word, right?! But apparently it’s a Danish open sandwich made the size of a piece of sushi, i.e. mini sandwich + sushi = smushi! Chatting with friends, drinking tea, and eating delicate pastries is not a bad way to pass an afternoon
Oh and btw, it’s not really cold enough to be wearing woolly hats, I was just bundled up for my scooter!
FRIDAY tomorrow, hooray! See you then folks!
