Back to basics
This is my last post with my long hair.. tomorrow you will see what I’ve done to myself! haha. This is a ‘back to basics’ look - a simple, comfortable (and warm!) outfit – perfectly suited to Beijing’s cold, dry winter weather. The green jeans make it slightly more exciting, hah.
I’m off to get a new computer tonight, exciting! I can’t wait for the upgrade – my current computer is barely 5 years old but that already seems ancient in technology-land. It’s so slow and heavy compared to the newer models!
Hope you have a great Tuesday everyone, and see you again tomorrow
During the Spring Festival holiday, Ollie and I spent a little time in the hutongs (alleyways) – my favourite part of Beijing. The hutongs are all that remains of ‘old China’ and are full of hidden restaurants, shops, and the old traditional courtyard houses.
The Look of the Day was about warmth, as temperatures were around -8C! My cosy turtleneck, thick coat, and knee-high boots did the trick as we wandered around the narrow streets. I thought the hutongs made a beautiful backdrop – what do you think?
White coat + sushi
Ok I know I might talk about Hatsune a bit too much, but it really is one of the best places in town for amazing sushi and incredible cocktails – and definitely a must for any visitors to Beijing craving a break from delicious-but-oily duck, dumplings, and other Chinese fare! I jump at any excuse to go to Hatsune, so naturally that was the restaurant of choice to take Jussara last week before she left for Shanghai! Mmmm sushiiiiii
I have had this coat in my wardrobe for a while now, but haven’t dared to wear it – wearing white seems to be asking for trouble in a city as
polluted ‘foggy’ as Beijing, and this coat is just so soft and pretty! I’m scared to ruin it! haha But I managed to avoid being my usual clumsy self and wear it out for dinner without incident, hooray! Hope you like the pictures
Happy Hump Day all!
