The Palazzo Pants

Friday is here again! And can you believe it’s already March!?

Well this outfit wouldn’t have worked today – it’s been snowing lightly all day, and the sky looks thick with more snow to come! Just as I was thinking it’s time to break out the open toed shoes.. Spring, where are you? haha. But anyway, I am in love with these palazzo pants - their wide-legged bagginess makes them extremely comfortable, and they still look formal enough to wear to work. Score!

Qian Men 前门

Happy Monday everyone!

How was your weekend? I spent yesterday catching up on all my favourite blogs – and drooling over the Milan fashion shows haha. Today’s outfit was shot by Qian Men (前门 – meaning ‘Front Gate’), on our way to brunch at Capital M last weekend. Qian Men used to guard the southern entry to the Inner City and the Forbidden City itself. Qian Men street is now one of the few pedestrian only streets in Beijing and is extremely popular on the weekends – we had to battle our way through the crowds! On a beautiful day like we had, this area is so picturesque. I love the history of this area (despite the more modern facade and the Star Bucks that sits at the entrance!) and it was fun to shoot here.

This sparkly sequined blazer was something I picked up at Stradivarius, and I wore it with sheer-back top from Zara. I love the long length at the back – this will be fun to wear more once the weather is warmer. I’m off to Shanghai tomorrow for work, exciting! I always have fun in Shanghai, it’s got such a buzz about it. The shopping and foodie scene is amazing, and this time I’ll also have a chance to catch up with some friends I haven’t seen in a while – a great extra bonus! :)

Christmas outfit

Happy Boxing Day folks! Hope you’ve all had a lovely lazy day recovering from lots of Christmas fun :)

Here is what I wore yesterday, a mixture of silver and stars with a touch of red for Christmas :)  I love this floaty, asymmetric skirt – what do you think of it? I picked it up in Hong Kong airport on my way to NZ, and am thinking it will go well with tights and a leather jacket when I’m back in the Beijing winter :) Anyway, back to Christmas – we had a lovely day filled with lots of family and good food. After a huge lunch and equally huge amounts of dessert, we spent the remainder of the afternoon exchanging gifts and playing Monopoly with my little cousin – he’s very smart (and cute) and somehow managed to beat us all! haha ;)

See you again tomorrow! :)
