Qian Men 前门
Happy Monday everyone!
How was your weekend? I spent yesterday catching up on all my favourite blogs – and drooling over the Milan fashion shows haha. Today’s outfit was shot by Qian Men (前门 – meaning ‘Front Gate’), on our way to brunch at Capital M last weekend. Qian Men used to guard the southern entry to the Inner City and the Forbidden City itself. Qian Men street is now one of the few pedestrian only streets in Beijing and is extremely popular on the weekends – we had to battle our way through the crowds! On a beautiful day like we had, this area is so picturesque. I love the history of this area (despite the more modern facade and the Star Bucks that sits at the entrance!) and it was fun to shoot here.
This sparkly sequined blazer was something I picked up at Stradivarius, and I wore it with sheer-back top from Zara. I love the long length at the back – this will be fun to wear more once the weather is warmer. I’m off to Shanghai tomorrow for work, exciting! I always have fun in Shanghai, it’s got such a buzz about it. The shopping and foodie scene is amazing, and this time I’ll also have a chance to catch up with some friends I haven’t seen in a while – a great extra bonus!
Hello lovely readers!
The weekend is here at last, and to show you just how cold it is in Beijing at the moment - here is today’s Look shot in the snow! Ok well to be fair, these photos were not taken in the city, but out at Nanshan Ski Resort last Sunday :D The gorgeous weather and bright white snow (not to mention this swing we found!) was too beautiful a setting to pass up. The outfit is all about this fluffy coat from Zara (which I also wore here), and my waxed denim jeans. I hope you like it!
Have a great Friday folks!
First moments back in New Zealand
Apologies for the lack of posting.. I’ve been spending the last two days catching up with my parents and helping out around the house getting things ready for when all the relatives come and visit us on Christmas Day. That might not sound like much of a holiday, but I am totally enjoying every minute of it! It’s just so nice to be back home, and enjoying all the little things I’d taken for granted or forgotten – like the birds singing outside my window, the lush greenness of New Zealand, and the wonderful, fresh sea air!
I also spent today running around doing lots of odd jobs you always do when you’re home – visiting the doctor and dentist, posting letters and Christmas cards, going to the bank, renewing my driver license, and making sure everything is in order for the next year! Here are just a couple of pics of my first day back What do you think of my new gift to myself!?
My first meal back home – Vietnamese phở of course! Mmm yum!
