Introducing: Alicia Lee from WillowWillow

Hey lovely readers :)

Today, I’m excited to be able to bring you an interview with none other than fabulous Chinese fashion designer, Alicia Lee! Alicia’s label WillowWillow includes both fiercely beautiful couture pieces (remember that beautiful mermaid dress and Queen of Spades look I showed you?), as well as a sophisticated ready-to-wear line. Here she shares some of her very frank insights about her experience as a designer and the Chinese fashion industry – I hope you find it as interesting as I do!

I’ve also included some photos from the last two shoots we did together – photos by Mirko Iannace and Adriana Lica. And if you live in Beijing, you can check out more at her store in Sanlitun! :)

MeiLi Style + WillowWillow Shoot – Look 2

Hellooooo everyone :)

Monday is here, and I’m now in countdown mode until the big move to London! Just had a delish ramen noodle dinner to say goodbye to some friends, and have a charity coming to collect big bags of clothes and furniture that we’ve decided to donate. The house is starting to look more and more empty which is sad, but at least it feels good to be making some progress!

Anyway, here are the photos (unretouched) from the second look ‘Queen of Spades’, shot with the MeiLi Style team, and Alicia Lee’s amazing WillowWillow clothing. The dark and mysterious make up is very cool, and Mirko Iannace (Sharpen Studio) created some awesome effects with the lighting – it’s amazing what he can do! Plus I was kinda obsessed with this fro hat.. haha. Hope you like it :)

Introducing: MeiLi STYLE, and our photoshoot with WillowWillow!

Gorgeous, talented, and down-to-earth, makeup artist and stylist MeiLi Autumn is one of the best in the industry – and her successful business MEILI STYLE has a reputation for professional, quality talent that keeps her team in high demand.

I met MeiLi almost 4 years ago and have had the pleasure of collaborating with her on a number of projects since. Watching MeiLi at work – transforming the ordinary to the extraordinary – is truly mesmerizing!

I’m very excited to finally be able to tell you about our most recent collaboration – a project to create three distinct makeup looks based around stunning designs by WillowWillow‘s Alicia Lee, and shot by talented Italian photographer, Mirko Iannace from Sharpen Studio. Maria Vittoria, the newest member to MeiLi Style, also played a big part in the make up and styling of the shoot – her skills and creativity produced stunning results! She is definitely an added star to the MeiLi Style crew :)

Read on to learn more about MeiLi’s story, her makeup tips and advice, and a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot filmed by Ollie :D  Accompanying MeiLi’s interview are photos of the first look we shot – ‘The Faded Mermaid’. I hope you like it!
